Special about
Corporate Leadership
More than half a decade since 9/11 and the fall of Enron, World Energy Television takes a look back at a time when political instability and corporate accountability scandals shook the confidence of investors as well as consumers. World Energy Television announces its broadcast on corporate leadership, "Restoring Confidence in America: The Need for Corporate Leadership."
Clearly, the need for improving corporate accountability is far from over. Nonetheless, corporate leadership has come a long way since 2002 and the creation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The program addresses what Sarbanes-Oxley is and what it will accomplish, moving beyond accountability to providing corporate transparency. Participants discuss what transparency means and share their views on how much of it is needed, with one guest suggesting that transparency may actually be a disadvantage to the investor. In discussing these questions of leadership, the chairmen propose interesting lists of what can be done to restore corporate credibility and offer inspiring stories about what has been accomplished so far.
